The Practice
Yen Hughes Law PC was founded in 2014 to help clients achieve their immigration goals including immigrant and non-immigrant visas, permanent residency and citizenship. Yen Hughes Law has served hundreds of clients and filed over 1,000 cases. The practice also assists employers with immigration strategy and I-9 compliance and audits.
Lina Yen Hughes
Principal Attorney
Lina Yen Hughes received her J.D. degree, with distinction, in 1997 from University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. She also has a M.A. in Psychology from Pepperdine University and a B.A. degree in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. She was born in Taiwan, grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and speaks Mandarin Chinese.
Lina is a member of the California State Bar and practices exclusively in the area of Immigration and Nationality Law representing individuals, businesses and charitable organizations. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has been a panel speaker on Religious Workers at the Central Florida Chapter AILA regional conference. She is currently the Well-Being Coordinator for the AILA NorCal Chapter and facilitates a monthly attorney support group.
Lina has co-authored sections covering Immigration Law in Richard Hammar’s Pastor, Church & Law, Fifth Edition. She also teaches Immigration Law, Client Interviewing and Counseling, and Human Trafficking Law and Policy classes at Trinity Law School.
